Unshakable Truth 9: The Trinity

HOW DO YOU ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS (From
The Unshakable Truth Study Guide)

Who do you regard the Holy Spirit to be, and how does he relate to you?

Look up these different Scripture passages: John 14:26, 1 John 4:12-13, and Ephesians 1:13-14.

These passages describe some of the roles of the Holy Spirit in your life. Identify some of them.

John 14:26: The Holy Spirit is…

1 John 4:12-13: The Holy Spirit is…

Ephesians 1:13-14: The Holy Spirit is…

John 14:26, 1 John 4:12-13, and Ephesians 1:13-14 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%2014:26,%201%20John%204:12-13,%20and%20Ephesians%201:13-14&version=CEV)

26 But the Holy Spirit will come and help[a] you, because the Father will send the Spirit to take my place. The Spirit will teach you everything and will remind you of what I said while I was with you.

12 No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is truly in our hearts.
13 God has given us his Spirit. That is how we know that we are one with him, just as he is one with us.

13 Christ also brought you the truth, which is the good news about how you can be saved. You put your faith in Christ and were given the promised Holy Spirit to show that you belong to God. 14 The Spirit also makes us sure that we will be given what God has stored up for his people. Then we will be set free, and God will be honored and praised.

Matthew 3:13-17 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%203:13-17&version=CEV)

The Baptism of Jesus

13 Jesus left Galilee and went to the Jordan River to be baptized by John. 14 But John kept objecting and said, “I ought to be baptized by you. Why have you come to me?”
15 Jesus answered, “For now this is how it should be, because we must do all that God wants us to do.” Then John agreed.
16 So Jesus was baptized. And as soon as he came out of the water, the sky opened, and he saw the Spirit of God coming down on him like a dove. 17 Then a voice from heaven said, “This is my own dear Son, and I am pleased with him.”

Listen, Israel! The Lord our God is the only true God!

22 The Father doesn’t judge anyone, but he has made his Son the judge of everyone.

29 The one who sent me is with me. I always do what pleases him, and he will never leave me.”

that will never disappoint us. All of this happens because God has given us the Holy Spirit, who fills our hearts with his love.

19 I want you to know all about Christ’s love, although it is too wonderful to be measured. Then your lives will be filled with all that God is.

19 Jesus told the people:
I tell you for certain that the Son cannot do anything on his own. He can do only what he sees the Father doing, and he does exactly what he sees the Father do.
